A bias slip has nowhere to hide. There is no lace to distract the eye and no seam that is not read, so every one of them has to fall exactly on the body's own line.
It hung on the stand for eleven days before the hem was cut, because bias drops and keeps dropping, and a hem cut too early puts a wave in the front by the time she is at dinner.
The hem is hand-rolled, no wider than a thread. The straps are cut in one with the front so there is no join at the shoulder.
